The image is sad, and so full of despair, becuase there is light within reach of him, all he had to do was open the window. He would have seen that there are other people in as much pain as he is, but because their bodies are broken, not their hearts or their minds.... get out there, help others that need help, in doing this you will feel better about yourself, and not so wrapped up in your own emotions. There are not fairies, but there are happy endings, you jsut need a little of hope and a hug

I see this a little differently. He hung himself in the dark, when outside there was light. He gave up when hope was right in front of him, but his own depression lead him to hide himself in the dark, convinced that hope was not something he should believe in, that this was it for him.

This image to me seems to depict a man hung when there was a chance for things to change for the better, but in the dark he was hiding from that change, and he hid from it so much, this chance for happiness, that he ended himself to escape the trap of dark torment, even though his only barrier between him and potential happiness, was himself.

Perhaps he was a man who had done the darkest of things, and felt that even though that happiness was within his reach, his own guilt drove him to believe that he did not deserve it. Driven by his own mad guilt, he would have hung himself.

Who knows really though. The only person who would actually know is the artist themselves, and that's relying on the fact that they created a story to this picture when it was made.

i love it think its so real. people think the world is happy wit unicorns and fairies really they need to get their head out of the clouds andthink of real life where people are suffering and they dont give a care. like people i know. at times i hink if i did that it wouldnt make any difference

i feel likw doin that sumtimes just cuz the world around me seems 2 crumble around me just because everything i stand 4 turns its back against me i guess thats y ppl do it ANNA or it could b that ppl r scared they'll lose the ppl they love and they dontwanna lose them...

I tried to do that.. But the thingy in the roof I tied the rope to couldn't hold my weight for long.. After I had past out the thingy couldn't hold meh up, so I woke up on the floor with a headache :L
