HR.com users will be happy. The website now comes with content integration with social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. Facebook and Twitter are two of the most popular social networking sites and it has been a big problem for users to make multiple posts of the same data on these sites.

With content integration facility, HR.com users can directly post data on their Facebook and Twitter profiles, when updating their profiles on HR.com. This will help avoid duplicity of the data that is commonly seen in such online networking sites. Hence, data such as blogs, files, documents, powerpoints, spreadsheets, pictures or videos, etc can be posted simultaneously on HR.com as well as Facebook and Twitter.

It also provides users with the option of informing their network, on HR.com as well as on Facebook and Twitter, about the latest updates in their profile. This will help users project themselves to a much bigger and diverse community in an efficient manner.
Debbie McGrath, CEO of HR.com says, "We have a devoted community of international contributors on HR.com, totaling in excess of 188,000 individuals. Our site is supported by our members who contribute and share over 200 best practices and tips each and every day. This integration of social media sites like Twitter and Facebook will further drive additional members to HR.com."

Cloud computing is a term that not many are familiar with. You use it every time you log on to the internet since cloud computing is all about using resources provided by some other entity via a common link. You use an email account, that’s cloud computing. You have a shared domain name, another example of cloud computing.

Same is the case with Facebook. You can be in touch with your colleagues, family and friends and everyone knows what you are upto. You also have the option of keeping things private by using the messaging facility on Facebook.

It is not always that you will have people you like in your friends’ network. So what do you do? Facebook gives you the facility of grouping your network into people you know, people you don’t, people you like and dislike and so on and you can group them as you please.

Every time there is an update for you, Facebook informs you by sending an email to your account. This is yet another form of cloud computing which makes Facebook an efficient communication and business tool.

Lastly, the images and videos you upload gets reviewed by your friends which is another form of cloud computing. Everyone is free to comment on it and you can have their opinion right away.

Finally Facebook has a new CFO. David Ebersman, former executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Genentech will now take over as chief of finance from the ex-CFO Gideon Yu.

Yu has been with Facebook for less than two years and though the initial reason cited for his departure was “a strained relationship” with CEO Mark Zuckerberg, an internal company memo, that appeared later, said that Yu wanted to spend more time with his family. Facebook has been on the lookout for candidates with more public experience- a hint of a future IPO. Says Zuckerberg,” We received a lot of interest in the CFO position and had the opportunity to meet with many impressive candidates. We quickly recognized that David was the right person for Facebook. He was Genentech’s CFO while revenue tripled, and his success in scaling the finance organization of a fast growing company will be important to Facebook.”

Ebersman will directly report to Zuckerberg and will be looking into the company’s finance, accounting, investor relations, and real estate functions along with playing an important role in strategy and planning operations of the organization.

Cyber crime is not new in the internet community. And social networking sites are no different. Several members of online networking sites have been victims of hacking in the past and the nuisance is still at large. Lisa Stevens form Massachusetts is the latest among the victims wherein a virus took over her laptop and began sending pornographic images to her network of friends.
Unwanted traffic that you receive from unwanted and unknown sources is known as spam and it costs several billions of dollars every year for US companies to keep hackers at bay. Facebook has been the most preferred haunt for hackers owing to the increase in its popularity. "Facebook is the social network du jour. Attackers go where the people go. Always," said Mary Landesman, a senior researcher at Web security company ScanSafe.
Facebook has been able to limit the amount of successful attacks to less than one percent which has its central headquarters in Palo Alto, California. Facebook is leaving no stone unturned in countering web crime and it has been busy recruiting fraud investigators and analysts to do the same.
Still Facebook cautions its users to are sure of the data that they are dealing with and that they are responsible for their own safety.
